Still Ignorant of History

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-SF) got all misty eyed verklempt yesterday thinking about political violence and remembering (and recalling specifically) the unpleasantness in the 70s when Mayor George Moscone and Supervisor Harvey Milk were killed by former Supervisor Dan White. But wait, was Mr. White a Republican ordinary citizen angered to violence by the executive actions of Moscone and Milk? No, he was a Democrat, who felt underpaid, betrayed and slighted by the Mayor and Milk. Had he been able to find Willie Brown, he would have killed three that day.

If I were Nancy, I'd watch my back.

UPDATE: Here is more about left wing violence in California during the 70s of which Speaker Pelosi was not probably thinking.
