Thought of the Day

And that's the main reason I am grateful for this controversy [regarding Roman Polanksi]. It is a dye marker, "lighting up" a whole archipelago of morally wretched people. With their time, their money and their craft, these very people routinely lecture America about what is right and wrong. It's good to know that at the most fundamental level, they have no idea what they're talking about.

First of all, I'm not aware that Polanski regularly lectures America on what is right and wrong, but maybe he does.

More pertinently, you are the one who defends the party of moral regulation, the guys who not only lecture us on right and wrong, but then actually legislate and imprison us on the basis of their perception of right and wrong, and then suck guys off in airport bathrooms.

It is, in fact, nice to know that these jerks, in fact, have no idea what they are talking about.

If you mean that the right stands for moral behavior and law and order, I agree with pride (even though pride is a sin). By the way, I'm for criminalization of public sexual acts. Brand me as you wish.
